Very Moist Milk Chocolate Cake

For the Cake

Sift together
  • 7oz Self Raising Flour
  • 1 tspn Baking Powder
  • 2 tbspn Cocoa
  • 3/4 tspn salt
  • 8oz Castor Sugar
Rub In
  • 4oz margarine
Mix together
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 10 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 tspn vanilla essence

Stir into flour mixture and beat together.
Bake in 2 sandwich tins (approx 7 inches diameter) 175 degrees centigrade for 35 minutes.


For the Icing

Melt together
  • 3oz Margarine
  • 4 tbspn cocoa.
Mix in
  • 8oz sifted icing sugar
Then beat in
  • 3 tbspn milk
  • 1 tspn vanilla essence
Sandwich the two cakes together with half the icing and top with the remaining icing.
